What are the benefits of interacting with nature?

Topics: Human Wellbeing | Comments

By Lucy Keniger, Kevin Gaston, Katherine Irvine and Richard Fuller

There is mounting empirical evidence that interacting with nature delivers measurable benefits to people.

This review assesses the benefits of interacting with nature. The review focuses on three critical aspects:

  • The geographic distribution of studies into the benefits of interacting with nature;
  • The types of benefits studied to understand whether some have received more focus than others; and,
  • The basis for evidence surrounding each of the identified benefits of people-nature interactions.

What are the benefits of interacting with nature? (Keniger et al 2013)
