Three years ago jewelry designer John Hardy co-founded the Green School in Bali, where kids get a holistic and green education.

At the Green School, students are taught in open-air classrooms made of bamboo. Balinese and international students learn about bamboo building, ancient Balinese arts, gardening - while still being prepared for traditional British school exams. The centerpiece of the campus is the spiraling Heart of School, one of Asia’s largest bamboo buildings.

In July 2010 the Green School’s co-founder, John Hardy, took an audience at the TEDGlobal 2010 Conference on a virtual tour of the Green School. This video of his conference address is courtesy of www.ted.com
