Forest and nature school – a useful guide

Are you or an organisation you know interested in establishing a forest school or any similar form of education in a natural setting?

Then a recent guide, produced by Forest School Canada in 2014, may provide a wealth of useful information.

Forest School –  also known as Nature Kindergarten, Outdoor School, Bush Kinder and other names – is an educational approach and program of delivery that has existed since the late 1950s. There are now thousands of programs all over the world, starting in Denmark and Sweden, moving through Scandinavia, onto Europe, China, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and now Canada.

The role of this guide is to help educators and the communities that surround and support them – such as administrators, facilities staff, parents, licensing officials, and so on – to learn more about Forest and Nature School and what this model of education offers children.
